Zakat Calculator
Work out your nisab in rupees from today’s gold and silver rate, add your assets, deduct what you owe, and see exactly what is due at 2.5%. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere — the calculation happens in your browser.
1. Today’s metal rates
Nisab is defined by weight, not rupees, so the threshold moves with the market. Enter today’s rate per tola — any jeweller or business news site will have it. We deliberately do not pre-fill this: a stale rate would give you a wrong answer on a religious obligation.
Nisab is 7.5 tola (87.48 g)
Nisab is 52.5 tola (612.36 g)

Calculate against
If you hold a mix of cash, savings and metal, most scholars advise the silver nisab. It is the lower threshold, so more people qualify to pay — the more cautious choice, and the one that benefits those entitled to receive.
2. What you own
Jewellery, coins, bars
Value of goods held for sale
Loans you expect to be repaid
Current market value
Your home, personal vehicle, clothing and household furniture are not zakatable and should be left out.
3. What you owe
Money you owe and must repay
Rent, utilities, wages payable
Deduct what is genuinely payable now — not the entire balance of a long-term loan.

The nisab threshold depends on the current gold or silver rate, so it cannot be pre-filled.
Ready to give?
Zakat given to the Foundation is applied only to the eight categories in Surah At-Tawbah 9:60, kept separate from general donations, with no administrative deduction.
Please read the current programme status on the Zakat page before giving — our programmes are still being established.
This tool applies widely accepted rules to the figures you enter. It is a starting point, not a religious ruling. For business partnerships, agricultural produce, pensions or anything complex, consult a qualified scholar.
How Zakat Is Calculated
2.5%
One fortieth of your qualifying wealth, once it exceeds the nisab and has been held for a full lunar year.
Nisab
87.48 g of gold (7.5 tola) or 612.36 g of silver (52.5 tola). One tola is 11.664 g. Below the threshold, no Zakat is due.
Hawl
One lunar year of continuous ownership. Many people fix a date in Ramadan and calculate on the same date each year.
Zakat is due to the eight categories named in Surah At-Tawbah 9:60. The Zakat page lists them in full, along with how the Foundation applies Zakat funds. A membership subscription cannot discharge Zakat, because it is not restricted to those categories.
Through Ramadan, the Sehri & Iftar timings page carries the daily timetable.
Common Questions
How much is Zakat nisab in Pakistani Rupees today?
It changes daily, because nisab is defined by weight of metal, not by a rupee figure. The gold nisab is 87.48 g (7.5 tola) and the silver nisab is 612.36 g (52.5 tola). Multiply today's rate per tola by 7.5 or 52.5 to get the threshold in rupees — this calculator does that for you once you enter the current rate.
Should I use the gold nisab or the silver nisab?
If your wealth is a mix of cash, savings, gold and business assets, most scholars advise using the silver nisab. It is the lower threshold, so more people qualify to pay, and that is the more cautious choice and the one that benefits those entitled to receive. This calculator defaults to silver and shows you both.
What rate of Zakat do I pay?
2.5% — one fortieth — of your qualifying wealth, once it has been held for one full lunar year (hawl) and exceeds the nisab.
Which assets do I include?
Cash in hand and in bank accounts, gold and silver, money lent out that you expect back, business stock and merchandise, and the current value of shares and investments held for growth. Your home, personal car, clothing and household furniture are not zakatable.
Can I deduct my debts?
Yes. Debts genuinely due — money you owe, outstanding bills, and short-term liabilities — are deducted from your total before Zakat is calculated. Deduct what is actually payable, not the entire balance of a long-term loan.
Is this calculator a religious ruling?
No. It applies the widely accepted rules to the figures you enter, and it is a helpful starting point — but circumstances differ. For anything complex, such as business partnerships, agricultural produce, pensions or mixed assets, consult a qualified scholar.
Where does my Zakat go if I give it to the Foundation?
Zakat funds are applied only to the eight categories (asnaf) named in Surah At-Tawbah 9:60 and are kept separate from general donations. The Foundation takes no administrative deduction from public donations. Our programmes are being established, so please read the current status on the Zakat page before giving.
